An Elemetary School Is Renaming After Barack Obama, Changing From Jefferson Davis
President Barack Obama aim of raising new generation of leaders like him, is already taking off in Mississipi, as an elementary school has unveiled plans to rename the school after the former president.
The elementary school which in Jackson, Mississipi, previous was named after president of the Confederacy Jefferson Davis decades ago, will be switching that for the country's 44th and first black president, Mr Barack Obama.
According to CNN, the PTA president Janelle Jefferson of the school which is 98% African American, made the move with a proposal to school board to have the name changed from Davis Elementary School to Barack Obama Elementary School in 2018.
"It was a very positive experience, and it was wonderful to see the children grasping this idea that they can be agents," Janelle said in an interview on CNN.

"The school community wanted to rename the campus to reflect a person who fully represents ideals and public stances consistent with what we want our children to believe about themselves" Davis Elementary School PTA President said in a statement.
The decision of the school board was jointly made alongside the pupils which the PTA head said were actively involved in the name changing."It was a very positive experience, and it was wonderful to see the children grasping this idea that they can be agents," Janelle said in an interview on CNN.
