England's Dele Alli Risks Ban For Swear Gesture As FIFA Open Disciplinary Proceedings
England international Dele Alli, will be facing FIFA's disciplinary proceeding for allegedly sticking up his middle finger at officiating referee during his country's 2-1 victory over Slovakia at Wembley Stadium on Monday.
The England midfielder on his part claimed the gestured was meant towards his team-mate Kyle Walker, as against the officiating referee - he apologised via a statement on his Twitter account.
Meanwhile, the sport's governing body's spokesperson reportedly said a disciplinary proceeding has already been opened to look into the allegation.
"We can confirm that disciplinary proceedings have been opened following this incident. Please understand we cannot comment further at this stage," FIFA's spokesperson is quoted as saying.
However, the England team manager Gareth Southgate, shared the Tottenham Hotspur's player's claims, and believed the gesture was intended at Kyle Walker.
