Neymar Jr Transfer: La Liga Fall Out With French League, Refuse £198 Million Buyout Clause Payment As Against UEFA's FFA Rules
Spanish football league La Liga reportedly are attempting to block Neymar Jr. move to Paris Saint Germaine despite the fact that such move will be against UEFA's FFP rules.
According to sources, the league refused to accept payment of the £198 million buyout to trigger the 25-year-old contract release clause as the FFP rules stipulate.
On Thursday morning, five Barcelona lawyers in-charge of the buyout payment deal were spotted the league office as the league's lawyer Juan de Dios Crespo also was seen with what is believed to be bank documents for the buyout payment which he refused to accept.
La Liga confirmed their decision to turned down the payment in a statement issued by the league.
"We can confirm that the player's lawyers came to the La Liga offices this morning to deposit the clause and that it has been rejected. That's all the information we are giving out t this moment," statement reads.
Meanwhile, the France league have responded to their counterparts' decision to reject deposit in an attempt to impede the player's move.
"The LFPis astonished and does nit understand the refusal of La Liga to simply accept payment of the release clause of the player Neymar," statement reads.
On the contrary to La Liga's decision, the FFP reportedly has made their position known that the league has no jurisdiction to impede the Brazil international move to PSG since stipulated rules have been met.
