Manchester City Sign Five-year Deal With Monaco's Benjamin Mendy
Manchester City have completed and signed a five-year deal with France international Benjamin Mendy.
According to club's report, having completed the $52 million deal with the 23-year-old, he will make his first appearance with City at their second pre-season match against Real Madrid in Los Angeles.
Mendy joined Monaco from Marseille last season and won the Ligue 1 title with the club during his first season with the French side.
Speaking about City's new signing, the club's Directors of Football reiterate the Frenchman his strategic to the team build-up ahead of the season as having reliable full-backs is "one target" crucial to the team.
“Benjamin has all the qualities we are looking for in a full-back. For such a young player, he has a wealth of top-level experience.He is undoubtedly one of the world’s best full-backs, our number one target in this position. We are all delighted to have him here at Manchester City.
