Lewis Hamilton Announces His Retirement From Formula 1
Chances are Lewis Hamilton might do just as any other legendary drivers would do rather, as his former team-mate and FIA one-time title winner Nico Romberg did last season and retire from the sport by the end of the season.
The three-time champion made this known speaking to the sport official magazine Auto, about his future in the sport and holds the notion that quitting would in no ways change his "legacy" even if he did years later.
"I can decide to stop at the end of this year. Does that mean my legacy is less great than it would be if I stop in five years' time? Who's to say?" he said.
The 32-year-old Mercedes driver yet has one more year to go in his contract is making a turn from his earlier position of signing another contract after the current contract expires.
Unsure about what he would donated retirement or what adventure to take, Hamilton believe he has his destiny in his hands as the sky is his limit.
"I don't like to plan for it because I don't know what's around the corner, I don't know what I'm going to do. Whatever I know I'm going to do, if I apply myself the way I've always applied myself in my racing and I apply it to anything else I want to do in life, or even if it's still in racing, I feel I can achieve great things," the three-time champion said.
Hamilton has been having an "awesome" season as he stands second behind Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel with 12 points adrift, in spite of that the Mercedes driver might join former team-mate Nico Rosberg in retirement by the end of the season.
