Canada GP Final: Lewis Hamilton Wins And Closes Up On Sebastian Vettel

Lewis Hamilton, having won his sixth Canadian Grand Prix, Mercedes closes up on Ferrari's lead by 12 points as he finished quickest ahead of Sebastian Vettel at the final.
Prior to the final, the Mercedes lead driver had stunned his fellow drivers with 65th pole position, equalling record set by Brazil's Ayrton Senna - he was presented with Senna 's crash helmet after the race.
Speaking ahead of the final at the qualifying race Hamilton said: "I'm shaking. I'm speechless. Ayrton was the man who inspired me, so to match him, and to receive this is the greatest honour so a big, big thank you to the Senna family."

Hamilton had controlled the race from start and kept it on as Vettel suffered a damaged to his front wing from an impact from Max Verstappen and led to his finishing fourth.
That gave Mercedes the free cruise ride on having Valtteri Bottas behind, as Vettel fought his way through aggressively to get a podium position but Australian Daniel Riccardo waded him off to get a third.
