Since the millennium, there has been tremendous change in Hip Hop and that is not just in music but in riches, coverage and acceptance.
In 1998, Master P was ranked 10th among entertainers with a networth of $56.5 million and next was Diddy - then popularly known as Puff Daddy - in 15th position with networth of $53.5 million.
Now, Hip Hop artists are very much into all kinds of business and their networth are skyrocketing year after year.

In this year's ranking, annual turnover of Diddy and Jay Z for the year 2016 surpass any artist total networth ranking below third position in Forbes hip-hop artist rich list - that is how fast they are growing in wealth compared to decades ago.
Sean Combs otherwise Diddy for seven years remain on top the Forbes list with a networth of $820 million.
Diddy estimated worth has been gathered from money made from his businesses - Diageo Ciroc, DeLeon tequila, investment in media (Revolt digital cable TV), Bad Boy entertainment company and alkaline water brand - he  is not at all far from becoming hip hop first billionaire.
Jay Z bought streaming service Tidal over 10 times lesser than its current worth at $600 million
Shawn Carter popularly known as Jay Z moved two places to rank behind Diddy as second richest with networth of $810,000 million.
Diversifying especially investment in streaming service Tidal, which currently valued at $600 million, leaped Jay ranking by two places to be second in ranking.
Also in his chain of investments is roc Nation entertainment company, Armand de Brignac Champagne and sports.
Dr Dre's Beats electronic deal with Apple was a game changer for him
Following in third position is Dr Dre with an estimated networth of $740 million and good chunk of his wealth has come from his Beats electronic company with Apple.
The deal was struck at a whooping $3 billion which initial was speculated to have made the artist/producer a billionaire but his take from the deal was not enough to rank him such.

In fourth position is rapper/producer Birdman with a networth of $110 million which put him above Drake, who followed him with a total of $90 million - most of Drake's income comes from album sales, record deals and investment in clubs
