Chelsea Outshine Fulham In Premier League Derby At Stamford Bridge

Chelsea maintained the strong start to the season with a clean sheet victory in a London derby at Stamford Bridge, defeating Fulham 2-0.

The Blues enjoyed dominance, leading to goals from Joao Pedro, who had a field day in the attack. The player should have scored a brace or assisted with another goal at least, but wasted the opportunity from a fast break initiated by Chalobah's floated lob into the centre of the half.

Pedro set the Blues in the lead on the brink of halftime, nodding home Enzo Fernandez's cross from a corner. After the break, the Blues doubled the lead from the spot-kick taking by Enzo after the VAR ruled against Sessegnon for a handball offence.

Earlier, Fulham had a goal from Joshua King ruled out for Muniz's foul on Adarabiowo, leading up to the goal. King initiated the build up and neatly rounded Adarabiowo before striking the ball home. Thereafter, Fulham were a shadow of themselves as the Blues gained stronger hands on the game.

This year, Chelsea remained unbeaten at home in the Premier League derbies and Pedro have now scored in two consecutive games for the side. Meanwhile, have lost five of the previous Premier League derbies after their impressive four months unbeaten run in a derby.

Overview

It was a well-deserved victory for Chelsea, taking over the midfield for most of the game, and Pedro enjoyed himself at the front, even though he only had a goal. Alex Iwobi could not inspire Fulham to make a comeback. Fulham were docile enough for Chelsea to dominate. However, good goalkeeping from Leno for stopping brilliant efforts from Pedro.
