Marvel Announces Title, Release Date For Black Panther Sequel
As the coronavirus pandemic continues to ease across countries, Marvel Studios is ready to drop a lot of films. In a revelation of films that are due for release, the studio in a clip, confirmed the title and release date for Black Panther alongside films like Captain Marvel, Ant-Man 3, Guardians of the Galaxy 3, and many others.
As confirmed on Monday, Marvel unveiled the title of the Ryan Cooglar-directed film to be Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and confirmed it will be released in August 2022.
Amongst the release dates unveiled in the clip was Thor: Love and Thunder (May 06, 2022), Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madeness (Mar 5, 2022), Spider-Man: No Way Home (Dec. 17, 2021), Black Widow (July 9, 2021), and Captain Marvel (Nov. 22, 2022).
Until now, there have been talks on the sequel of the film in which the lead actor Boseman Chadwick is not alive again to reprise his role, and Marvel is committed to keeping his legacy by not replacing him in the franchise. Michael B. Jordan, who was portrayed as Erik Killmonger, hopes to make a comeback despite the character's death in the first entry.
Black Panther was remarkably successful for the studio closing at the box office with a global grossing of over $1.5b making it the most successful film directed by an African American director and the studios' all-time biggest performing black superhero film.
