Chelsea Defender Kenneth Omeruo Wants To Remain Permanently With Leganes
Kenneth Omeruo is keen on leaving Chelsea to remain permanently with La Liga side Leganes which the English side loaned him out to.
Chelsea has not been home to the 25-year-old who since he was signed to the club in 2012, has only been on loan trip to other clubs. However in his conversation with the BBC Sport, he deemed it's time for him to leave Chelsea and remain permanently with the Spaniards.
"The football here suit my style," Kenneth explained his reasons for leaving to the BBC Sport because the club provided him with "the opportunity to play against the best players in the world" - a thing he believes is "massive" for his profile.
After being loaned seven-time in seven contract season with Chelsea, the Nigerian-native is due to return to Stanford Bridge in summer, but that might not materialise as he hoped an option in his contract to make him stay will be triggered.
"There is an option for Leganes to sign me on a permanent basis anf hopefully that will happened...It will be a decision between both clubs, but personally I hope I'll be a Leganes player for next season and beyond."
The 2014 and 2018 Fifa World Cup veteran has completed 24 appearances with the Spaniards since his arrival.
