Premier League: Manchester City Past West Ham To Keep Table Lead
West Ham concede seventh game by losing 4-0 at home to Manchester City which maintain table lead with two points ahead of Liverpool.
The hosts were considerably dominated over by City, but could have narrowed the lead had they converted their chances. They were able to penetrate into City's box, only that they could not get the ball in.
Within 20 minutes of play, Hammers had already been trimmed down to seize by City which scored two goals through David Silva and Raheem Sterling..
Hammers got fired up and twice came close to scoring through Marko Arnautovic and Michail Antonio, but that lead got wider as Sane completed a volley pass from Sterling to make it third goal for City.
Late in injury time, Gabriel Jesus picked out the German, Sane, with a cross in the box and he slammed the ball home for City's fourth goal.
After the match, club manager Pep Guardiola thought his team could have done better if their passes were good enough.
"West Ham had chances and they didn't score. We were quite lucky but we will come back to our best," says Guardiola "too many touches, our passing was not good enough but our running was fantastic."
