PeongChang Winter Olympics: Hyojum Lim Wins Gold Medal For South Korea In 1,500 Short-Track Speed Skating
South Korea has won their first gold medal in the Games from Hyojun Lim in 1,500m short-track speed skating.
The 21-year-old finished ahead of Dutch Sjinkie Knegt in 0.07sec to clinch his country's first medal.
Knegt won the silver medal for Netherland as Semen Elistratov finished third to win first medal for a Russian athlete in the Games.
Korean Hyojun paid tribute to his compatriot who have naturalized as Russian Viktor Ahn in his speech after the game.
"Viktor told that I could do this," Lim recalled their conversation "I've had lots of advice from him."
Viktor, who is the sport's most successive athlete was banned following a doping offense.
